Clay
Yixing clay (usually purple or lilac, but the name is generic for five different colours), has been a long time favourite among tea ceremony connoisseurs for its naturalness, beauty, and “magic”. Because of the porous structure of the clay the inside of the kettle doesn’t have to be glazed. Like this, tea gets into a completely natural environment where it is saturated with the maximum amount of oxygen and imbues the teapot with aroma and flavour.
