Description
This 7 year old pu-erh tea comes from Yunnan province in the form of five 100 gram cakes of compressed tea packed into a bamboo case. From mid-summer to late autumn, large, well-developed tea leaves that have gathered much force are harvested for this pu-erh tea.
This Chinese pu-erh tea is produced in such a way as to retain all its beneficial features. The leaves are treated with steam, pressed, and dried. Unlike other kinds of tea, this pressed pu-erh is fermented in two stages: straight after harvest and during ageing. After that it is dried, compressed and packed into fresh bamboo leaves.
Mei Hua Bing Cha is a high quality tea sporting many beneficial features.
This tea is known to aid weight loss, normalise metabolism, flush harmful toxins, to have a beneficial effect on the stomach, digestive organs, intestines, and to break down fat. Regular consumption of this brew is known to help improving skin condition.
This pu-erh brew has moderate astringency, is quite oily, and has a wide aromatic bouquet. It is pleasant to the taste, with no bitterness or acerbity. In the course of brewing, it ranges from velvety-earthy to nutty, with hints of caramel, and the bamboo leaves used for packing and storage of the tea add a slight touch of herbal taste.
